Lexion 740 regeneration fault – What to do?
Equipped with a Caterpillar 9L engine (C9), this combine shows all the symptoms of a clogged particle filter. In fact, regeneration faults are present on the vehicle and recur very frequently. The particulate filter has been replaced, as has the ARD head. Although these components have been replaced, we are still dealing with a fault in the exhaust after-treatment system.
Description of defects encountered
4077-15 – Aftertreatment #1 Fuel – Pressure #2 : High – least severe (1)
This means that you are confronted with a fault related to the fuel pressure in the exhaust system (Aftertreatment #1 Fuel Pressure #2) on a Claas 740 combine equipped with a Caterpillar C9 engine under the Tier 4i standard.
Error code 4077-15 indicates that the fuel pressure after processing is too high (High – least severe). There may be several reasons for this, and here are a few possible solutions:
Start by checking fuel pressure sensors and associated cables
Check exhaust system components: Make sure the particulate filter is clean and in good working order.
Analysis of fuel system, including injector and pressure sensors
Following a number of parts changes that failed to solve the problem, the vehicle could be sold for export.
Eliminate regeneration and DPF problems on Lexion
Regeneration fault on Lexion 740: Removing the anti-pollution device prevents regeneration of the particulate filter, which can temporarily or permanently, in our case, eliminate fault warnings linked to a dirty particulate filter. Of course, the ARD connector must be disconnected and the particulate filter physically emptied, so that the particles no longer accumulate in the DPF.
Engine performance: In some cases, removal of the emission control device may result in a slight increase in engine power or performance, as some of the emission control constraints may be relaxed.
Regeneration fault is solved after our work
Our intervention allows you to resume your usual workload to the maximum. After our intervention, your vehicle will be free of defects and will operate without any emission management restrictions. Our solution consists of fully programming the engine management system of your Claas Lexion 740 (or 750/760) combine harvester to eliminate all faults once and for all.
